BOISE The snow continued to fall throughout the day Friday, giving skiers and boarders a very good reason to make the trek up Bogus Basin Road and hit the new powder on the slopes.

It s like really fluffy and really deep, said Ford Songer, who had a no school snow day.

I was like Dad why don t we go skiing early because we were going to go after school and then it was a snow day, he said.

While kids took advantage of their snow day, parents did as well.

Brad Wolf lives in Boise and decided to leave early to get his kindergarten student to a ski lesson.

My daughter started her Mogul Mouse today so I was forced to take off early on a Friday and come and bring her up and make the sacrifice, said Wolf.

Bogus Basin General Manager Alan Moore said the ski area gained about a foot of new snow in the last seven days.

We were getting a little thin there had been a lot of blue sky days so not as much snow as we'd like but right now it looks terrific, said Moore.

Another week of this and then everyone will be up here, said Wolf.

Moore estimated there would be about 5,000 skiers and boarder will come up to Bogus Basin on Friday alone.
