MOUNTAIN HOME -- A Colorado man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 84 near Mountain Home Saturday, according to the Elmore County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say 49-year-old Jeffrey D. Jackson, of Grand Junction, Colorado was riding his 2005 Honda motorcycle east on I-84 at about 7:45 Saturday evening when he drifted of the left shoulder of the roadway and crashed in the median.

Jackson was thrown from the bike. He was taken by ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Deputies say Jackson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor.
