NAMPA A Nampa triplex was heavily damaged by fire this morning.

Fire crews with the Nampa Fire Department were called to 1602 4th Street North around 8:30 a.m.

Fire Chief Karl Malott says upon arrival crews found the attic and upstairs of the two of the units involved in fire.

A second alarm went out and fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, but not before two apartments suffered extensive damage.

The people living in the apartments were home when the fire broke out but managed to safely evacuate from the building. There were no injuries.

Malott says the fire started in one of the upstairs units. The cause is under investigation.
