BOISE - Road construction season is now underway in the Treasure Valley with several major road projects either already under way or about to get under way.

Two of those projects will start Monday in Canyon County.

CALDWELL

Road crews will begin resurfacing Caldwell's I-84 business loop Monday. Sections of Cleveland Boulevard, Centennial Way, and Blaine Street will be impacted.

The project will also feature the replacement of high curbing with lower-profile curbing to reduce door strikes, along with revamping 44 sidewalk ramps to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Drivers should know that traffic in some areas will go from two lanes to one, and flaggers will be directing traffic.

Officials with the Idaho Transportation Department also say the westbound off-ramp at Centennial Way will be closed for up to a week during the end stages of the project in order to place concrete pavement and allow time for the new concrete to properly cure.

A detour will be announced during that portion of the project.

NAMPA

In the City of Nampa, the street department will begin 8 chip sealing projects Monday. The wave of chip sealing starts at Alma Lane from Southside Boulevard to Happy Valley Road.

Crews will work on the west side of town on West Greenhurst Road from Midland road to Midway Road.

Nampa city officials report that chip sealing is about a quarter the cost of conventional asphalt overlay.

EAGLE

In Eagle, work to transform Highway 44 and Linder Roared from four lanes to five continues.

This weekend, Crews started at West State Street, but a lane in each direction will be maintained on Idaho Highway 44 during the work.

ITD asks drivers to slow down and pay attention in construction zones.

Over the next several months, crews will be rebuilding intersections and widening the highway and this work won t be finished until the fall.
