BOISE -- Fire crews battled a two-acre wildfire about 3 miles northwest of Middleton early Monday morning.

The blaze started just before 4 a.m. near Galloway and Harvey Roads in a mixture of hay, grass and brush, according to firefighters.

Captain Mark Rabdau with the Middleton Fire Department said the call was first reported as a structure fire. However, Rabdau says firefighters actually discovered no buildings on fire when they arrived on scene.

Instead, they reported the fire was behind several barns, and burning through a small amount of hay, grass, and brush near a canal.

Firefighters had the burn controlled by just before 7:30 a.m.

Crews from the Caldwell and Star fire departments assisted in the fight.
