NAMPA -- A former charity worker who pleaded guilty to stealing from the Caldwell Senior Center and Canyon County Meals on Wheels has been given a nine-year suspended prison sentence and ordered to spend 200 days under house arrest.

The Idaho Press Tribune reports 55-year-old Paige McMichael has already paid the $7,200 in restitution required under the plea agreement on two counts of grand theft.

Court records say McMichael obtained credit cards on behalf of the two organizations and used them for thousands of dollars in personal purchases.

It was not clear how much McMichael charged to the cards, but prosecutors recommended $6,000 in restitution to the senior center and $1,200 to Meals on Wheels.

Third District Judge Bradly S. Ford sentenced McMichael on Monday.
