TWIN FALLS -- A judge has ordered a Buhl man to spend at least four years in prison for stabbing and severely injuring another man last fall.

Twenty-year-old Nicholas Gray pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for his role in the assault on Orlando Ramirez at a party in Twin Falls in October.

The Times-News reports that Gray was one of six people who attacked Ramirez after a verbal altercation turned violent. Ramirez, from Jerome, had to undergo emergency surgery for wounds in his abdomen.

The judge also ordered Gray to split $22,000 in restitution with a 17-year-old juvenile also convicted in the case. The teen is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Trials for the other four defendants are scheduled for later this month and in April.
