BOISE -- Some sad news from Zoo Boise. Taiga, one of the zoo's Amur tigers, had to be euthanized Tuesday because of chronic illness.
Taiga was 15 years old.
A zoo spokesman tells us that he was in an advanced stage of kidney disease, his health had quickly declined in the past few days, and he had not responded to veterinary treatment.
Zoo Boise has two other Amur tigers, and has no immediate plans to get another one.
