BOISE -- Drivers in Eagle and Nampa will experience road closures as crews work on several construction projects in the coming weeks.
Drivers in Nampa should expect South Canyon Street to be closed between Lone Star Road and Roosevelt Avenue until January 25. The area in question is just west of Northwest Nazarene University.
The closure is due to underground utility installation. Drivers should use South Midland Blvd. as a detour.
Meanwhile, drivers in Eagle will see the free flowing, right-hand turn lane from Linder Road onto Hwy. 44 closed permanently on Friday, January 4.
The construction will replace the free-flowing lane with a designated turn lane.
The closure is set to begin after the morning commute on Friday.
ITD says drivers will still be able to make right-hand turns at the intersection during construction, but will have to wait for the traffic signal.
Additionally, the speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph in the construction zone, and at least one lane in each direction will remain open throughout construction. Lanes may be restricted at night, but access to businesses and homes will remain.
