BOISE -- Time is running out to get your St. Jude Dream Home ticket and a chance to win a beautiful new home in Eagle's Lakemoor Subdivision.

Taking a chance on winning the St. Jude Dream Home will help fuel the groundbreaking research that will bring scientists closer to the day when every precious life can be saved.

Innovation has been a hallmark of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since its opening in 1962. From the beginning, its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

St. Jude pioneered the concept of putting doctors and scientists all under one roof, allowing for immediate feedback. They work together to translate laboratory discoveries into cures.

To make discoveries and bring them right to the clinic that's amazing as a scientist, said Spencer Currle, researcher at St. Jude.

St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened to 80 percent today.

The resources available here and the fact that I can impact children with the work that I do in the lab is an amazing opportunity for a scientist, said Currle.

What also makes St. Jude unique, is they share their research findings with doctors and scientists all over the world, meaning the work done in these labs has the potential to impact children world-wide. Every child saved at St. Jude means children saved around the world.

We're all motivated to cure these kids we really are. And there are scientists all over the world that are just as good as we are and so when we learn something we want to get it into as many hands as possible so that someone else can pick up on the problem. And maybe they have a better idea. So the faster we get it out there the faster we can cure them, said Currle.

Millions of dollars are needed to conduct this kind of extensive research and treatment. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.7 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions, and through fundraisers like the St. Jude Dream Giveaway.

Because of all the wonderful donors that support St. Jude it really is an important place, said Currle.

A $100 donation to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital buys you a chance to win the house.

You can buy tickets here or call 1-800-537-8939.

The drawing is June 24th and will be televised live on KTVB.
