BOISE -- Boise State University has been talking about expanding Bronco Stadium for years.
BSU Athletic Director Gene Bleymaeir laid out the plans for a massive addition to the stadium this summer.
Now thanks to a donation from some long time Boise State donors, the university is getting closer to its goal.
Larry and Marianne Williams and Jerry and Muriel Caven have pledged a total of $5 million toward the first phase of the Bronco Stadium expansion.
The $5 million donation is earmarked for the construction of a new football complex on the north end of Bronco Stadium.
The Williams and Cavens have been faithful supporters of Boise State University, and we are most thankful for their lead gift to this important undertaking, said Bleymaier.
Phase one of the stadium expansion includes the new football complex, 5,000 additional seats in the stadium, an enhanced viewing and sound environment, and the completion and relocation of the track to Dona Larsen Park.
So far, no timeline has been put on the project.
