A Boise woman who was stopped for running a red light early Wednesday morning found herself in even more trouble after police say she assaulted an officer.
Police say the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol after pulling over 30-year-old Elizabeth Montandon for the traffic violation.
Montandon failed a field sobriety test, and was told she was under arrest for driving under the influence.
During the arrest, police say, Montandon struggled and kicked one officer in the leg.
She was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with felony battery on an officer, along with misdemeanor counts of DUI and resisting arrest.
She's set to appear in court June 25.
