BOISE -- On Friday night, a car went off Arrowrock Road into the reservoir. A father and two young children were inside. Two-year-old Riley Lutton died Monday evening after spending days at St. Luke's hospital in Boise, according to the Ada County coroner.
Riley was an organ donor and his mother says other childrens' lives were potentially saved as a result of his donation.
The family provided the following statement to KTVB on Wednesday morning:
On behalf of our entire family, we would like to thank the community for the outpouring of love and respect shown to us while we endure any families worst nightmare. Riley was an amazing little soul. Full of giggles, and love and funny sayings. We feel so blessed to have been his parents. Riley will live on in the lives of many children. His heart is saving a 4 year old boy's life today. A 4 year old not unlike his 4 year old brother, Landon. Our hearts are broken. In the midst of our ache, we are thankful Riley has the chance spare other families from the agony of losing their precious babies. Our suffocating pain is the answer to prayers for many, many hopeful families begging God for mercy. We cling to this for peace and comfort. A special thank you to Jim, Kerrie, Lynette, Brock and Karla at St. Luke's for treating us like family and being so supportive and amazing. - Natalie, Lawrence and Landon Lutton
