BOISE --A Boise man on probation for the drunken crash that killed his 4-year-old step-daughter is back behind bars.

David Leroy Persons, 33, was sentenced to two to 10 years in prison in September for Pearl Sittner's death. The child drowned in 2012 when Persons' SUV veered off Arrowrock Road and plunged into the the reservoir.

Persons served six months of his sentence before being released on probation in March.The next month, police say, he was on the run.

Idaho Department of Corrections officials asked for the public's help in finding Persons after he stopped checking in with his parole officer.

An anonymous tip led police to him Wednesday. He was arrested while walking near the intersection of Cole and Overland Roads in Boise.

Persons now faces finishing his vehicular manslaughter sentence in prison.
