MERIDIAN -- People from across the valley gathered Saturday at Meridian Middle School to shred sensitive documents and help the Meridian Food Bank.

The first ever Shred Day brought dozens to the middle school parking lot to shred documents for free and drop off cash and food donations.

Dan Clark, Executive Director for the Meridian Food Bank says the donations will help lots of families in the community. Folks are very generous. They are bringing us donations as well as food and monetary donations. So that's always helpful, because we're not here to make money. We're just here to help out.
