BOISE -- The Boise Rescue Mission got a big gift Thursday.

Walmart gave the non-profit organization a $70,000 grant.

The money will be used to fund programs that serve people in need in our community.

$70,000 will go a long way, said Bill Roscoe, president and CEO of the Boise Rescue Mission. I've got a great team that will stretch it out, but it s a tremendous gift and a great time for that gift to come as we get into the springtime, because people are still coming to the shelter.

Just last week, the Boise Rescue Mission opened a new community shelter in Nampa for women and children in need of emergency housing, food, and other services.
