BOISE -- Road crews were out across the valley this morning treating the roads and trying to keep highways safe for drivers.

But one area hit hard by the overnight storms was about 15 miles south of Boise on Pleasant Valley Road.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office tweeted this morning that the road near the prison south of town was closed after ice built up on power lines in the area.

Jeff Ray with the Idaho Department of Correction says they do have power at their facilities but visitation has been canceled at the Maximum Security Institution for the day.

Ray says he isn't aware of any power outages in the complex but assures us they are prepared if that happens.
