BOISE -- A major Boise thoroughfare is closed at this hour because of flooding.
The flooding happened on Emerald Street.
The Ada County Highway District says when irrigation water was turned on, a closed valve caused a manhole to overflow.
Crews are having to dig up asphalt to check for damage under the road.
Right now, Emerald Street is closed from Roosevelt to Latah streets.
Crews hope to have the road opened sometime this evening.
