PULLMAN, Wash. -- A Washington State University student who fell from the window of a dormitory last week was listed in satisfactory condition as of Monday.
The October 11th incident is the third time this semester a student had been hospitalized after falling from a building.
Assistant WSU Police Chief Steve Hansen tells KREM the man, 22, is a junior at the university. Hansen says he fell from a window from the 11th floor of Orton Hall, but was conscious when officers found him. A witness told KREM 2's Othello Richards the student complained of leg pain after the fall. The student apparently hit a tree, which slowed down his fall.
Hansen says there was no immediate sign of a crime or apparent alcohol use. Authorities say the student wasn t drunk.
The student was taken first to Pullman Regional Hospital and then flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. His condition remains unknown.
