BOISE -- Volunteers in Boise recalled the war that pitted states and many families against each other 150 years ago.

The Idaho Civil War Volunteers annual flag-raising ceremony pays tribute to fallen soldiers and recognizes the significance of Memorial Day, which began as Decoration Day after the Civil War.

Ceremonies took place at Morris Hill, as well as the Military Reserve Cemetery.
