BOISE -- The fate of two historic homes in Boise's 'Central Addition' neighborhood is still up in the air.

The George Stewart house and Mary Wood house are in foreclosure. The Queen Anne style homes were built back in the 1890s.

Both homes sit on a piece of property that was put up for auction Friday. But Preservation Idaho volunteers say no bids were made to purchase the lot that sits at S. 5th Street and Myrtle Street in downtown Boise.

The non-profit group had made a last minute push to gather $500,000 in donations to make a competitive bid, but members were only able to raise about $7,500.

An attorney for Washington Federal Bank confirmed the property is now under the bank's control, but couldn't elaborate on what happens next.

Preservation Idaho representatives say no matter what happens to the property, they hope to try and preserve the two foreclosed homes.
