BOISE -- A two-vehicle crash on eastbound Interstate 84 near Gowen Road caused lane blockage and traffic backups during the morning commute.
The crash happened just after 8 a.m.
Idaho State Police and Ada County dispatchers say two vehicles collided near a construction zone, blocking both lanes.
One of the vehicles reportedly began burning after the crash.
Police say 35-year-old Julie Boyd of Boise was stopped in traffic in the eastbound lanes when another vehicle collided with the rear of her car. Salvador Alvarez, 32, of Nampa, was identified as the driver of the other car. Police say he failed to stop for traffic.
Both eastbound lanes were blocked for about 15 minutes until the left lane was cleared. The right lane remained closed for about another hour.
Police say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and airbags deployed in Alvarez' vehicle. Boyd was taken to a local hospital by a personal vehicle to be treated for injuries.
