BOISE --A bill that would allow speed limits to increase on some of Idaho's highways and interstates is now headed to Governor Otter's desk for approval.

The bill would allow speed limits to increase to 80 miles per hour on interstates and 70 miles per hour on state highways.

Before the bill becomes law, the Idaho Transportation Department must also agree the increase in speeds is in the best interest of the public.
