CALDWELL -- A 28-year-old man has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors after a shooting that left two Canyon County sheriff's deputies wounded.

Canyon County prosecutor Bryan Taylor Kyle Batt pleaded guilty in exchange for a sentence that will send him to prison for at least 30 years.

The shooting happened in October just off Interstate 84 in Caldwell.

Caldwell Police were looking for Batt in relation to an aggravated assault case.

Chief Deputy Kieran Donahue says Batt shot at five deputies as they approached the house. Police say he fired a total of 11 shots at two deputies before one of them was able to return fire and injure Batt.

Deputy Brad Childers has since returned to active duty while Deputy Michael Roth continues to recover from his injuries.

Batt has already been sentenced to 15 years in prison in federal court for unlawful possession of a firearm.
