BOISE -- A Boise man wanted for setting fire to a Boise Bench home where a 74-year-old woman was found murdered last summer has been arrested in Louisiana.

The Ada County Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant charging 42-year-old Steven E. Roberts III with felony arson. He was taken into custody Wednesday.

Boise Police spokesman Charles McClure says Roberts set fire to a home at 5824 West Randolph Drive on Sept. 1, 2012.

That is the same home where 74-year-old Phyllis Ward was found dead on July 23, 2012. Neighbors reported smoke coming from the house and firefighters found Ward dead inside the home. The Ada County coroner said she died from multiple blows to head that occured before someone set her house on fire.

Both the homicide and July arson remain unsolved.

McClure says there is no evidence that the two crimes, one in July and the other in September, are related in any way.

Roberts was booked into the Ada County Jail late Wednesday.

He was arraigned today on charges of arson and burglary. A judge set his bond at $1 million.

He will be back in court on Sept. 11 for a preliminary hearing.
