MERIDIAN -- Saturday, Meridian Automotive celebrated their 40th anniversary, and hosted a fundraiser for the Wounded Warrior Project at the same time.

The Wounded Warrior Project helps injured service members returning from active duty and provides assistance to their families.

All the entry fees, raffle funds, and food proceeds from the show went to the project.

Shop owner John Nesmith said it just made sense to help those who are helping injured veterans. We just thought it would be a perfect thing to give back to those, and I think there are some holes to be filled for our guys that are coming back, that are serving and dying for our country and our freedom, said Nesmith.

The goal of today's event was to raise $1,000. At last check, they had far surpassed that total.
