MERIDIAN -- Meridian Parks and Recreation announced a new playground and other amenities coming to their 8th Street Park.
The current park playground will be removed while the Meridian Public Works Department works on a sewer line project. City officials say this park sewer line project won't obstruct any roads.
Since the old playground will have already been taken out, it will be replaced by a brand new playground funded by a local Solid Waste Advisory Committee Recycling Grant, after the sewer line is completed.
A Community Development Block Grant is also expected to fund a restroom facility and a future picnic shelter site at the park located at 2235 NW 8th Street.
Meridian Parks and Recreation expects all the work to be finished by late August or September.
