BOISE -- Evolution, ecology and human behavior were the topics of a Boise State University symposium, Friday night.

It's the first of its kind for BSU.

The purpose of the conference is to promote greater interaction between regional departments and scholars, through the interests in evolution, ecology and human behavior.

Those involve hope to foster opportunities for collaboration.

I think it is a great impact. It is going to raise the profile of BSU in terms of anthropology its also going to a expose the students to some potential graduate schools around the region, said John Ziker, Chair of Anthropology at Boise State.

The symposium will continue through the weekend.
