IDAHO FALLS -- A 22-year-old eastern Idaho man has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder in connection with the shooting death of a young woman.

Adan Arroyo was charged earlier this year with first degree murder and a weapons enhancement after prosecutors said he shot 21-year-old Kristy M. Aschliman four times on Jan. 19 and left her for dead on the side of the road near Ammon.

Prosecutor Bruce L. Pickett says Arroyo entered the not guilty plea in Bonneville County's district court on Wednesday, and he's now scheduled for a trial on Aug. 12. Prosecutors have not yet decided if they will seek the death penalty in the case.
