Indianapolis -- D.J. Harper's story at Boise State was an inspiring one.

The running back started out his career with promising freshman and sophomore seasons, before suffering season ending injuries the next two years.

But he finished strong, and rushed for a career-high 1100 yards his senior season.

Now Harper is hoping he can write another chapter to his inspiring story, in the NFL.

Harper took part in field drills at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis Sunday.

In the 40-yard dash, Harper clocked in at 4.52 seconds, which was seventh best out of the running backs.

He registered a respectable time in the three-cone drill, with a time of 7.07 -- the 14th best time of running backs.

Harper's grade right now is in the high 50's, which means that he is a draftable player, and could contribute in a backup role or on special teams.

Here's a look at Harper's combine stats:

40 yd dash: 4.52 seconds
Bench Press: 23
Vertical: 33.5
Broad Jump: 120
3 cone: 7.07 seconds
20 yd shuttle: 4.35 seconds
60 yd shuttle: 11.85 seconds
