PRIESTRIVER, Idaho -- Police in northern Idaho said Jeremy Swanson called 911 Tuesday evening to report he stabbed his pregnant wife to death.

Authorities said dispatchers told Swanson to step outside, to which he replied he could not because he had a 20-month baby in the house.

Friends of the victim, Jennifer Swanson, said she used to be a manager at the McDonalds in Newport, Wash., and most recently worked at Burger Express.

Neighbors woke up to see police in front of the house at 350 S. Harriet Street in Priest River, but did not report hearing anything out of the ordinary.
