POCATELLO -- A Mexican national living in eastern Idaho is likely headed to prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.
Twenty-five-year-old Heriberto Aleman-Aguero pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Pocatello to having sexually explicit images of minors.
His crime came to light in July 2011 after he went to a mobile phone provider in Rexburg to reprogram his phone.
An employee observed several images and videos containing what he believed to be child pornography, after which he contacted the Rexburg Police Department.
A resulting analysis of the phone revealed over a dozen sexually explicit images of minors, including depictions of prepubescent minors engaged in sexual acts with adults.
He faces up to 10 years in federal prison when he's sentenced in March in Pocatello.
