BOISE -- Boise Police are investigating a break-in at a west Boise apartment Tuesday night.

Police say they got the call around 11 p.m. Witnesses told officers two men with dark complexions, possibly in their 20s and dressed in black, entered an apartment southwest of the intersection of Cole and Ustick roads. They said the suspects hit both the victims over the head with a handgun.

Both suspects then ran off. They were last seen leaving the area driving south on Cole Road, possibly in a dark-colored newer model Volkswagen Jetta.

When police arrived, officers found the two victims, a male and female about 20 years old. Both had cuts to their head. EMS responded and treated the victims. They did not need to be taken to the hospital.

Police say the two suspects surprised the two people living at the apartment. Officers say it appears the victims and address were targeted. The crime does not appear to be random.

Nothing was taken and officers do not believe there's any ongoing threat to the community associated with this incident.
