BOISE -- A 55-year-old Boise man who was convicted of driving under the influence for the 14th time could be sentenced to life in prison on Aug. 22.

Terry Lee Ash was convicted by an Ada County jury Tuesday. His conviction for being a persistent violator of the law makes him eligible for a life sentence. He is jailed without bond.

Prosecutors say Ash was arrested on Sept. 4 after a single-vehicle crash near Kuna. Court records say his blood-alcohol level was 0.13 percent four hours after the crash. A person is considered legally intoxicated with a BAC of 0.08 percent.

Ash was last convicted of DUI in Canyon County in 2005. His sentence was discharged in October 2010.

Prosecutors say Ash's DUI convictions date back to 1980.
