KUNA -- Eight miles south of Kuna, there's a woman whose kitchen is currently filled with 400 muffins.
That's in addition to the dozens of farm-fresh eggs, coffee cake, crafts, and other items MarriChampie is planning to sell at the Kuna Farmer's Market on Saturday.
Champie says the market typically pulls in up to 1,500 folks from the surrounding countryside to buy up fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, and meat each week. However, she hopes that several thousand will turn up for this week's market.
That's because hundreds of racers and perhaps thousands of spectators attending the 2012 Exergy Tour will take the sleepy town by storm.
Stage 2 of the Exergy Tour will roll into Kuna on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Here, racers will compete in yet another time trial, looping the town and racing for shear speed.Champie hopes that will make some big business for the 25 to 30 small vendors who usually set up shop for Saturday's farmer's market..
The farmer's market rented the entire park, Champie told KTVB, explaining that she'll be showing up at 6 a.m. to cater to the many tourists she hopes will visit Kuna in preparation for the race.
As for what sets Kuna's weekly market apart from farmer's markets in Eagle, Meridian, and downtown Boise, Champie offered a simple explanation.
Kuna is really an ag town, Champie added, so that's what we're all about.
