YELLOWPINE, Idaho -- A 51-year-old Caldwell man is missing and presumed drowned after a crash in Valley County nearly two weeks ago.

The Valley County Sheriff's Office says Marlin Riggs drove his truck off of Johnson Creek Road south of Yellowpine on May 16. His truck was found completely submerged in the river the next day, but Riggs was nowhere to be found.

Deputies say they are continuing to monitor the river for Riggs, but he is presumed drowned.

According to the Associated Press, Riggs was part of a group of inmates who sued Corrections Corporation of America, contending the Idaho Correctional Center was so violent that it was nicknamed Gladiator School.

Riggs sought $55 million from CCA. A settlement was reached, but the terms of the agreement were sealed.

Deputies say Riggs was last seen wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved white t-shirt. He's described as 5-foot-9, 186 pounds, with short, strawberry blond hair.
