BOISE -- Boise Police are asking for the public's help in locating an armed man who robbed a pharmacy in downtown Boise this afternoon.

The pharmacy is located at N. 2nd and W. Bannock Street by St. Luke's Medical Center.

Witnesses told police that around 1:22 p.m., a man with a handgun came into the pharmacy and demanded prescription painkillers, drugs with a high potential for abuse.

He was last seen running from the pharmacy, possibly heading east on W. Idaho Street.

Officers are on scene and are searching for the suspect.

The suspect is a light skinned male, 30 to 35 years old with a black goatee. He was wearing a denim blue button down shirt, sunglasses and a beige beret cap.

Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower says it is unclear at this time if the suspect got away with any drugs.

Anyone who has seen a man fitting this description is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
