BOISE-- Firefighters with the city of Boise quickly extinguished a small wildfire burning in northwest Boise that broke out early Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported just before 6 a.m. Crews had it extinguished within half-an-hour.

The fire burned grass and brush near the intersection of Cartwright Road and Dry Creek Road in the Hidden Springs subdivision.

Firefighters say the total fire damage was contained to roughly an acre.

Several barns and a home nearby were not damaged by the flames.
