BOISE -- One year to the day after resigning as Canyon County prosecutor, John Bujak says he's organizing a grassroots militia to demand efficiency and accountability from county commissioners.

The commissioners say Bujak owes the county nearly $300,000 related to a contract with the city of Nampa.

A criminal investigation into that matter is still open.

In a statement released today, Bujak accuses county commissioners of wasting taxpayer money to attack him in the press and the courts.

Last week, Bujak filed a document naming a political treasurer, which allows him to raise campaign money.

However, Bujak has not announced any plans to run for office.
