NAMPA, Idaho-- A Nampa man has appealed a judge's decision denying him access to the bank records of Canyon County Prosecutor John Bujak.

Insurance agent Bob Henry had filed a petition to force Bujak to disclose financial records on his nearly $600,000 contract with the city of Nampa. But District Judge Kathryn Stricklen ruled Thursday that the financial documents aren't public records.

Henry filed an appeal with the Idaho Supreme Court Tuesday. He says Bujak is using Nampa and county resources, which means all financial records related to the contract are public record.

Bujak's contract is to handle misdemeanor prosecutions for Nampa. He has said it saves money for Nampa and the county.
