Yotes renew old rivalry with Willamette on Saturday

CALDWELL - The College of Idaho Coyotes hit the road for the first time this season, as they travel to Salem, Oregon to face the Willamette Bearcats on Saturday.

Saturday's game will renew a long rivalry between C of I and Willamette University. The teams have met 45 times, and were both founding members of the Northwest Conference in 1926. The Yotes and Bearcats played every season between 1946 and 1977, with the latter winning the last eight games between the two.

Both teams are coming off season-opening losses. The Yotes (0-1) dropped at 26-13 contest at home to 25th-ranked Montana Western. Meanwhile, the Bearcats lost 35-21 to Rhodes College in Tennessee.

Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 8 p.m. Mountain Time. Fans can listen to the game live on ESPN Boise (96.5 FM, 730 AM). On mobile devices, the radio station streams live in KTVB's Bronco Roundup app. Just go your app store to download it.
