Steelheads' Robinson turns aside 42 shots in Game 1 win

BOISE-- The Idaho Steelheads got a heroic effort from goal tender Josh Robinson, and David de Kastrozza scored a pair of goals, as Idaho held off the Colorado Eagles, 2-1, in Game 1 of the first round of the ECHL playoffs on Friday night. Idaho leads the best-of-seven series one game to none.

Robinson faced an onslaught of shots, but managed to turn aside 42-of-43 to preserve the win.

The Steelheads lit the lamp first in the opening period on a power play when William Rapuzzi found a cutting de Kastrozza, who buried the pass in the back of the net. Colorado managed to tie the game in the third period, but it was the Steelheads who had the last laugh. Idaho struck once more with less than three minutes to play when de Kastrozza unleashed a long wrist shot that beat Dustin Butler on the glove side to take the lead for good.

Idaho will once again host Colorado in Game 2 of the series on Saturday night.
