Skiing was not the only sport happening in Ketchum on Saturday

Ketchum Parks and Recreation hosted the 5th Annual Idaho Pond Hockey Classic at Atkinson Park. Around 100 people showed up and 19 teams played in the classic including 4 from Boise.

KETCHUM -- It was not only skiing going on in the Wood River Valley on Saturday, there was some pond hockey action happening also.

The Ketchum Parks and Recreation Department along with the Blaine County Recreation District hosted the 5th Annual Idaho Pond Hockey Classic.

John Kearney with Ketchum Parks and Recreation said 19 teams played in two divisions and close to 100 people participated in the event.  Four of the teams were from the Boise area.

In the A division (advanced players), the Magoo's Mulies defeated the 5 B Garage Band, 5-2.  While in the B Division (beginners and intermediate players), the Old Toads beat the Stick Tease, 4-3.

The proceeds from the event go to benefit youth recreation programs throughout the Wood River Valley.
