BOISE -- Long-time Boise State men's basketball assistant John Rillie will join the coaching staff at UC Santa Barbara, according to a source.
Rillie had spent the last seven seasons at Boise State, including the last six as an assistant coach.
He was the last remaining member of the staff that head coach Leon Rice initially assembled when he took over the Broncos' program in 2009.
Rillie called members of the Boise State men's basketball team last night to inform them he was leaving, according to a source.
In addition, a source says that Rillie will serve as the associate head coach for first-year UCSB head coach Joe Pasternack.
Rillie served as the director of basketball operations his first year at Boise State. He was then elevated to assistant coach in 2010.
