Bropleh keeps dreams alive, signs professional contract

BOISE -- Former Boise State basketball standout Thomas Bropleh signed a professional contract with the Finke Baskets of the German ProA League on Monday. Bropleh will head to play in Germany and play for a team that is in the second-division

league in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga.

While playing in Las Vegas last month, Bropleh was noticed by Finke coach Uli Naechster, who made him an offer shortly after. Bropleh was named MVP of his team multiple times throughout the summer.

"It's a good opportunity for me to go play and show what I can do," Bropleh said. "I'm going in there ready to work hard and contribute and see where it leads."

"Coach Uli liked what he saw out of me and he said he thinks I'm a player who can help,"Bropleh said. "I'm excited to get over there and do just that."

In his senior season as a Bronco, Bropleh averaged 19.6 minutes per game, while contributing 8.0 points along with 2.8 rebounds per game. He shot 42.6 percent from behind the ark. In his final 14 games as a Bronco, Bropleh scored double digits in 10

of them.

Bropleh now joins former teammate, Ryan Watkins, as a member of the 2014 BSU squad to sign a professional contract.

"Ryan and I have been on the phone and texting throughout the whole process," Bropleh said. "After he got his contract, we were just waiting to see where I would end up. Now I have mine and it's official, we're both playing pro ball. It's really great not only for us as individuals and our class, but for the Boise State program."

Bropleh will spend a few more days in the states before he leaves for Germany to start his professional career next week.
