BOISE - Coach Gordy Presnell and the Boise State women's basketball team has added home-and-home series with the University of Washington, the school announced this week. The first game in the series is set for this coming season.
The Broncos will take play at Washington on December 11, and the Huskies will travel to Boise for a game in the 2017-18 season.
Washington made it to the Final Four last season, and ended with a 26-11 record and an 8th place ranking in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches Poll. They return 1st Team All-American Kelsey Plum this year.
“We are excited about the opportunity to go play the Huskies,” said Presnell, in a statement. “Obviously it is a going to be a big game, they went to the final four last year and return a good nucleus from that team this year. This will be a good measuring stick for us and help prepare us for conference play.”
December's game will mark the fist meeting between the two programs since 2008. Washington leads the all-time series 19-4, with the Broncos' last victory happening in Boise in 2007.
The Broncos' kick off the season on Nov. 6 when they the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in an exhibition game. The regular season begins on Nov. 13 with a home-opening game against Southern Oregon.
