Boise State to host basketball open scrimmage prior to homecoming football game

BOISE - Fans planning to attend the Boise State football homecoming game might want head down to campus early that day. The men's basketball team will be hosting an open scrimmage as part of the homecoming festivities.

The fourth-annual open scrimmage will take place in Bronco Gym (next door to Taco Bell Arena) starting at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15.

It'll be fans' first chance to get an up-close look at the team, which features seven new players this season.

The scrimmage will be over in time for fans to enjoy the Homecoming Parade and Bronco Walk prior to the football game against Colorado State. Kickoff for the game is set for 8:15 p.m.

The Boise State men will open the season with the first of two exhibition games on Oct. 28, against Lewis-Clark State at Taco Bell Arena. Season tickets and mini plans are on sale now, and can be purchased here.

WALK-ON TRYOUT

Interested in becoming a Bronco? The men's basketball team will hold a walk-on tryout on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 9 a.m. The tryout is available only to current full-time Boise State students.

Participants must have a physical and all compliance paperwork completed prior to trying out. Interested students are asked to contact Chris Gold at chrisgold@boisestate.edu prior to completing paperwork.
