BOISE -- Boise State senior defensive back Kyle Wilson has been named a semi-finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award. The award is annually given the the nations best collegiate defensive back.
Wison is one of 12 semi-finalists for the award. The list will be narrowed to 3 finalists on November 23rd and those athletes will be invited to the national televised Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards which will be December 10th. The winner will be announced that night with the award will actually be given out on February 9th at a banquet in Oklahoma.
The Piscataway, New Jersey native was also named to the 2009 Playboy All-America Team and was named a mid-season All-American by Sporting News Magazine in October. Kyle is also a finalist for the Lott Trophy which recognizes college athletes and their academics, performance as a student, and their community service contributions.
