BOISE -- The Boise Hawks dropped their second straight game with a 9-2 loss against Salem-Keizer at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday.

Boise jumped out to a one run lead in the first on a Kevin Encarnacion single, but the Volcanoes would answer back with nine unanswered runs.

The big blow came off the bat of Gabriel Cornier in the fifth inning. With two runners on, the right-handed hitter lifted a fly ball the opposite way. With winds gusting up to 25 miles-per-hour straight out to right field, the ball carried over the fence for a three-run home run.

Lead off hitter Shawon Dunston Jr. was the lone bright spot for the Hawks on offense. The 19-year-old when 2-for-3 with a run and a walk.

The Hawks and Volcanoes will wrap up their three-game series at Memorial Stadium on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. (MT).
