BOISE-- The Idaho steelheads are one step closer to filling out their 2013-14 lineup. On Monday, Steelheads head coach and director of hockey operations Brad Ralph announced the signing of Taylor Vause.
A second-year player, Vause comes to Idaho after spending his first professional season playing for the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. While in Texas, Vause scored four goals and tallied 13 assists in 55 games played.
“Taylor brings speed and a very good skill set to our lineup,” Ralph said of his most recent acquisition. “He’ll be used in all situations, is a high-character player and has a terrific work ethic. We’re really excited to add him to the team.”
Vause joins seven other players already on the Steelheads’ roster.
The Steelheads open their season on the road at Utah on October 18. Their home opener is set for October 23 against the San Francisco Bulls.
